Fairy playdough recipe

This fairy playdough recipe uses only 3 ingredients. It’s easy to make and great for fine motor development and open-ended play. We called this ‘fairy dough’ because of its unique, soft texture.

Coco (aged 2 years) loves all messy play – but playdough is something we can have fun with for hours.

Recommended age: 2 years and over. We recommend adult supervision for all our activities.

🌸Fairy playdough recipe🌸

  •  Add one cup of hair conditioner to a bowl. We chose a raspberry scented hair conditioner for its lovely smell.

  •  Next, add 2.5 cups of cornflour.

  •  Using a spoon, begin mixing the two ingredients together. If you’re finding that the mixture is way too wet, add more cornflour. You want the mixture to almost feel dry – but not crumbling apart..

  •  Knead the dough until it’s the right consistency, then give you little one a go. This is wonderful for developing fine motor skills and helping children understand how things can change when combined together.

  •  Finally, add a little pink food colouring. This gives the dough a lovely dusty pink colour. Of course, fairy dough doesn’t have to be pink! Choose any colour your little one loves!

  • We added dried petals to our dough. But you could add coloured glitter, fairy figurines or other bits and pieces to enhance the play experience.

  • We hope you enjoy making your fairy playdough!

Does your little one love fairies?

Remember! Be careful which hair conditioner you choose to make this. Some products can contain ingredients that cause skin irritations.
