From Shy Beginnings to Centre Stage: Dom’s Drama Journey 🎭✨

At Drama with Hannah-Rose, we’re passionate about creating a space where children can build confidence, make friends, and discover the joy of performance. One of our amazing drama families, Debbie and her son Dom, have been part of this journey for nearly three years—and what a transformation it’s been!

Finding a Safe Space for Growth

When Dom started school in September 2022, he was extremely shy and struggled with his confidence. Like many parents, Debbie wanted to support him in finding his voice and making new friends to help ease his school journey.

Drama isn’t just about what happens on stage—it’s about the friendships and connections made along the way. For Dom, it’s been about building an invaluable community of friends. And for Debbie, it’s created friendships with other parents, making the experience even more special.

Plus, from a practical side, Debbie adds that our holiday workshops have been a “life saver” for childcare while she’s at work—an added bonus for busy families.

Pivotal Moments: The Magic of Performing

One standout moment in Dom’s drama journey was his first Young Performers Club production: Matilda the Musical.

💬 “It was a pivotal moment. He got up on stage in front of a large audience and performed his little heart out. He was BEAMING with pride, and from that moment on, we just knew we had to nourish that part of his personality and encourage him to perform.”
