Starting School Workshop - Monday 17th August 2026 - Pavey House, Clifton
π Starting School Workshop β Confidence & Independence Through Drama
We are hosting a super special Starting School Workshop designed for children who will be starting Reception in September 2026. This fun, supportive, drama-based session is designed to help children build confidence and independence as they prepare for this exciting next step.
Through imaginative play, storytelling, and role play, we will gently explore what itβs like to go to school β meeting a new teacher, making new friends, and getting used to being in a group without a grown-up. Weβll talk about how the first day might feel, what a school day can look like, and even experience the joy of sitting together for snack or lunch in a relaxed, playful way.
The session is carefully structured to feel reassuring and positive, helping children feel excited, capable, and ready for starting school.
To support children who may feel a little nervous, the workshop includes a 15-minute drop-off window at the start of the session, allowing time for gentle settling-in.
π What to Expect
A fun and interactive drama workshop
Exploring starting school, meeting teachers, and making friends
Encouraging confidence and independence through imaginative play
A warm, supportive environment to help children feel prepared
A gentle settling-in period at the start of the session
